
ABOUT ME

I am a Professor of Secondary Education in the department of Middle Grades & Secondary Education at Morehead State University (1996-present). I received a BA in Anthropology (medieval French literature minor), an MS (zooarchaeology and French history minor) in Curriculum & Instruction, and an Ed.D. in Curriculum & Instruction (Botany and American history) from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I am currently a certified teacher in KY (secondary chemistry, biology, physics, American history, and middle grades science) and TN (secondary chemistry, biology, physics, physical science, and 7-12 American history), EdTPA reviewer in social studies, and Quality Matters Master Reviewer.
I research, present, and publish in technology issues and integration for P-16 schools, accreditation online exhibit rooms, biology curriculum, and ethnobotany. I am the Chair of the SITE Social Studies SIG (2019-2021) and Faculty Senate President 2019-2020. I am formerly the Chair of Science Education (2017-2019) and Information Technology Education (2008-2014) SIGs for the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE) , 2009-2010 Adron Doran Fellow investigating 3D in P20 schools, 2012-2013 Distinguished Researcher, and 2017-2018 Distinguished COE Faculty.

My personal interests include scale miniatures, birding, cats, and sewing.
